Alkali chemicals are a group of compounds that exhibit basic (alkaline) properties and are typically soluble in water, producing hydroxide ions (OH⁻) when dissolved. Alkali chemicals are bases, that have a pH greater than 7. They are characterized by their ability to neutralize acids.
